Project description
15.The project´s objective is to mainstream biodiversity conservation, SLM, and carbon sequestration objectives into the production landscapes of the Central Volcanic Mountain Range in Guatemala, contributing to the well-being of local populations and the delivery of multiple global environmental benefits. The GEF investment will counteract the loss of pine-oak forest and carbon stocks (broadleaf forests, mixed forests, and coniferous forests), biodiversity of global importance, and the degradation of soil in the Central Volcanic Mountain Range of Guatemala.
